TOYOTA WEST HOLDS LUNCHEON FOR JOE GIBBS RACING
On July 16, 2009, Toyota West held a luncheon at Joe Gibbs Racing to celebrate a tremendous effort in the 2009 season. Over 250 employees of Joe Gibbs Racing attended the luncheon that included BBQ from Bennett’s Barbeque and raffles for numerous cash prizes.
Toyota West and Joe Gibbs racing began a partnership back in 2008, when Joe Gibbs Racing switched to Toyota from General Motors vehicles. Toyota West currently provides courtesy vehicles to various Joe Gibbs Racing employees and Joe Gibbs Racing allows Toyota West employees to attend numerous races throughout the season.
“The partnership between Joe Gibbs Racing and Toyota West has been phenomenal,” said Todd Harkins, General Sales Manager at Toyota West. “For the past 2 years, we have hosted luncheons at Joe Gibbs Racing to celebrate the success that they put into the sport of NASCAR.”
Headquartered in Huntersville, North Carolina, Joe Gibbs Racing is owned and operated by former Washington Redskins coach Joe Gibbs. The team has won 3 Sprint Cup Series championships since it’s beginning in 2000. They currently field the #11 Fed-ex car driven by Denny Hamlin, the #18 M&M’s/Interstate Batteries Car driven by Kyle Busch and the #20 Home Depot car driven by Joey Logano in the Sprint Cup Series. In the Nationwide Series, they field 2 teams and in the Camping World East Series, one truck team.

Over 150 employees of Red Bull Racing attended the luncheon that included BBQ from Bennett’s Barbeque and raffles for numerous cash prizes.
Toyota West and Red Bull Racing began a partnership back in 2007. This was when Red Bull Racing signed with NASCAR’s newest manufacturer, Toyota. Toyota West currently provides courtesy vehicles to various Red Bull Racing employees and Red Bull Racing allows Toyota West employees to attend numerous races throughout the season.
“We value this strong partnership between Red Bull Racing and Toyota West,” said Todd Harkins, General Sales Manager at Toyota West. “They have been gracious enough to allow us to house one of their show cars at the dealership. Customers young and old are thrilled to be able to view a real racecar and it contents. It’s always a hit!”
Headquartered in Mooresville, North Carolina, Red Bull Racing is owned by Red Bull owner Dietrich Mateschitz. Jay Frye is the General Manager. They currently field the #82 Red Bull Cola car driven by Scott Speed and the #83 Red Bull car driven by Brian Vickers. Red Bull Racing has accomplished a lot of firsts in 2009, including their first win at Michigan International Speedway with the #83 car and a spot in the chase for the Sprint Cup, also with the #83 car.
